Hi! I have been lurking for weeks (months?), partly because I decided to finish my fic for this crossover exchange, instead of sensibly defaulting, and it ate up all the time I could reasonably devote to fandom (and wasn't really worth the effort, either). Anyway! The archive opened last night, and if you enjoy crossovers, you should check it out .

I received two lovely, really different, fics:

Rediscovery (3017 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Supernatural, X-Men (Movieverse)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester, John Winchester, Bobby Singer, Impala
Additional Tags: mention of suicidal thoughts, Mutant!Dean
Series: Part 1 of Sentience and its Uses
Summary:

She'd always known that her human was special. After all, Baby knew him best. It just took the others a little while to figure it out.

I haven't had much to do with SPN fandom for a while, but I'm always so glad to read about Dean--and this story makes his mutant abilities make so much sense.

Diagnosis: Murder (231 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: House M.D., Hannibal (TV)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Greg House, James Wilson (House M.D.), Hannibal Lecter
Additional Tags: crossovering treat
Summary:

Food and conversation.

I adored this snippet of (im)polite conversation, and wanted it to go on forever!

More soon about other stuff--hope you're all doing well!

Running Hot II is off to a prompt-tacular start (click banner to go the lj site).

There are prompts up for H50, SPN, Sherlock, White Collar, Grimm, MI4, The Unusuals, ReGenesis, The Avengers, Burn Notice, Merlin, Firefly, and probably some other excellent fandoms I'm forgetting. Come by and play--leave a prompt, fill one, or just enjoy!

In other h/c news: I know I've been sporadic in my journal reading for the past few months weeks, but why did no one tell me that the most fic-like on-screen h/c I may have ever seen was going on on House this week? I watched last night, and even though I haven't followed the show for years, I am clearly going to have to watch the last few episodes of the series, even though I'm sure they're going to rip my heart out.

And a question: if I were to take myself to a movie tomorrow, which of these is the most likely to help me forget my troubles/give me have a good cry: The Avengers; The Hunger Games; 21 Jump Street; other.

See you at the meme!

Usually, when I have a free Sunday morning, I try to get up reasonably early (~7:30) and go to Mysore. But this weekend I practiced the yoga pose of sleep. I was out latish Sat. night at a work-related dinner, and then up even later finishing my [livejournal.com profile] purimgifts fic, and so didn’t go to sleep until 1:30. I woke up at 7:30 or so, and thought screw this. And I didn’t wake up again until 10:30. Can’t remember the last time I did that. It might have been in high school.

Anyway, 28 hours of freedom is not so much when you spend 9 sleeping and 4 at a work dinner, so I hardly caught up at all on TV. I did watch, out of curiosity, the House episode in which Jeremy Renner plays a dissolute rock singer. And enjoyed it very much—I forgot how much I like S4 House and I don’t think I’d seen that one before.

Nor did I realize that this image, that you see all the time on the interwebz, if from House of all things!

Have two book recs, though (both about doctors, as it turns out).

My Own Country, by Abraham Verghese.

State of Wonder, by Ann Patchett

Even though I'm going to be out of town from basically March 23rd to April 1, I signed up for remix again. Possibly stupidly.

I've been meaning to do this forever!

I've done two fic exchanges in the past month or so, and totally lucked out with fics I got for my prompts--so I wanted to pass along the links.

For the awesome [livejournal.com profile] xover_exchange multifandom exchange, the very talented [livejournal.com profile] auctorial chose the pairing I suggested that I thought was the least likely to be taken up: Thirteen/ Morgana (House/Merlin) and wrote a gorgeous meditation on mortality and immortality (with added lovely femslash): Half Sick of Shadows (R).

And even though my fic for the [livejournal.com profile] whitecollarswap won't go up 'til Wed., I've already gotten this lovely fic from [livejournal.com profile] rabidchild67: Where is my Mind. It takes up the prompt "The anklet develops some spooky extra powers: it starts transmitting Neal's thoughts and/or feelings--but only to Peter" and does an absolutely delightful job with it. (nc-17 for a brief smutty scene).

AND: [livejournal.com profile] annonwrites remixed my fic "Lost Saints" as Lost Tides for the Dean-focused remix challenge over at [livejournal.com profile] hoodie_time. It's only the second time someone has remixed one of my fics, and it's so cool to see what a change in POV can do!

Finally: over on AO3, Helga Winter has translated "Catching Waves on Dry Land" (the H50 gun!kink one) into Russian!. Even though I can't read a word, I'm amazed and flattered by this!

Anyway, enjoy!!
