I agree. I was upset while I was watching it, but I think that was more of a measure of how intense and compelling the Neal & Peter relationship is, and how engaged I am by it, than of them "changing" or damaging Neal's character in some way. I'm actually really fascinated by the dynamic in which they love each other but don't trust each other (as someone said over on the lj version of this post, it's way more interesting than the whole Kate angst thing)--so I'm looking forward to seeing where they go with it--
